We are happy to announce that we will be launching our Photo Story Gallery very soon.
What does it do and how is it different to any other gallery out there? The answer is, a hell of lot and very little!
It is a compact and powerful image viewing tool based on the mootools 1.2b2 framework and PHP 4.4+ for server side handling. What it does do is take over a folder on your hosting/ftp and starts managing it as a 'gallery' immediately. There is no setting up. There is no clicking to upload and name files one by one. There is no delay. Just drag and drop!
How do you setup SE Gallery? Well, you do not even need a database, no usernames, no passwords! Just drop the SE Photo Gallery files into the folder containing the images, set permissions and load up the URL, the PS Gallery will take care of the rest! It automatically creates more manageable thumbnail previews, large views and full views for all new .jpg files it discovers. And yet you can upload a new file (or a set of new files) at any time, SE will automatically merge all newfound shots into the system.
Zooming, scrolling, slideshowing... this is pretty standard, but the PS Gallery also does image tagging and "story boarding". What this means is, you or your viewers can "tag" parts of your web shots with "bubble text" to create a more entertaining experience for everyone. Wheather you just say "Anna" over her head or add amusing dialogue like "Does that blue skirt make me fat", it is upto you!
The released version will have the following gzipped: index.php (PHP, HTML, CSS and JS all included), mootools.js (1.2b2 latest trunk) and 8 images), check under our files repository.

You can view the certificate seal embedded into the DOM here. To use on your own site, it needs Mootools 1.11 with Core, Asset.js and Events.js).
P.S. you may receive SSL certificate errors on the demo - this is because dci.uk.net has no certificate of its own!
